Why Thanos Destroyed Half Universe Instead Of Doubling The Resources

In the end of infinity war , Thanos succeeded in his mission to erase half the universe as he thinks that there are very limited resources in the whole universe and all this resources will get exhausted from the growing population of the world.

In the early stage of Titan , his home planet due to depletion of resources . Titan was facing a risk of extinction , So Thanos given a solution that by erasing half the population , the rest of the citizens can live in peace with less resources but his idea was rejected and he was called The mad Titan. As he predicted , Titan was destroyed adn he was not able to do anything . Then he took a commitment that he will not let this happen to any other worlds of the universe.According to him he is the only one who know what is going on with the universe and have the will to protect it and decided to protect it in his way . So after collecting all the infinity stones he did what he wanted for home planet , End of half the universe.At this point many fans were saying that if Thanos did this because of less resources then why didn't he used the infinity stones to double the resources .On this , the directors of the movie replied that When Titan was going to be destroyed , Thanos was young and arrogant . When he was rejected and due to this his planet was destroyed , things got on his EGO. So Thanos didn't even try to find another way and did all this to prove himself right and satisfy his ego.At last he is a villain , a MAD TITAN who made a decision on his selfish sentiments and didn't change it because of his personal sense.
